Benjamin Todd Jealous discusses the distribution of health and economic impacts of coal-fired power plants in this article published in the Huffington Post .  The negative impacts of living near a coal-fired power plant, including increased health risks and decreased property value, disproportionately fall on the impoverished and people of color.  One major driver of this pattern is the typically low political influence of these demographics.  Read more here.
